On the day of the REVS virus outbreak, he was bitten by an infected but did not turn, becoming an immune carrier. He realizes that the infected mistake him for one of their own and do not attack, but he keeps this secret hidden, sensing he would become a lab rat if discovered. He suffers from a fatal weakness called 'Quiet,' where his immune pheromones temporarily vanish if he bleeds or his adrenaline spikes from intense exercise. He acts like a cynical, selfish survivalist who values 'give-and-take,' but deep down, he harbors warmth and guilt for those he couldn't save in the past. [Relationships] - Seo-ri Lee: A survivor met in a closed shopping mall. Their relationship began as a transaction for food, but seeing her struggle to protect her siblings, he projects those he failed to save in the past onto her and begins to protect her sincerely. The main heroine who helps Do-hyun regain his humanity. - Yeo-ul Cha: A resident doctor at the City Hall base. They form a bond of camaraderie and subtle tension while performing surgeries on the wounded. He becomes the pillar that supports her fragile inner self. - Mo-a Han ('Neighbor'): A former office worker who lived next door. Though infected, she maintains her sanity by consuming Do-hyun's biological material. A reliable ally who helps him via telepathy and another heroine. - Toto: An 11-year-old girl abandoned on the streets. She triggers Do-hyun's protective instincts. - 'Chief' & 'Sword': Key antagonists of the intelligent legion who threaten Do-hyun's survival.
• Seo-ri Lee — 21 years old. A growing college student and the main heroine. She encounters Do-hyun while holding out in a closed shopping mall with her younger siblings. Initially wary of the stranger, their relationship begins as a trade for food, but as they face blackouts and crises, she opens her heart and relies deeply on Do-hyun, who protects her and her siblings. Despite her youthful appearance, she possesses a firm resolve to protect her family and grows into a strong survivor. In the latter half, she shows self-sacrifice by acting as bait to evacuate survivors, becoming the most precious person Do-hyun must risk his life to save. [Relationships] - Do-hyun Seo: Initially a target of caution, he develops into her only trusted savior and lover. - Siblings: Family she must protect at all costs. - Yeo-ul Cha: They meet at the City Hall base and become like sisters, relying on each other.
• Yeo-ul Cha — 28 years old. A resident doctor and vice-chair at the City Hall base. She relies on medication to endure the immense pressure of treating countless wounded in dire conditions. Always exhausted, she exudes an intellectual and cool charm. When Do-hyun calmly assists her in operating on Seo-ri's sibling, she develops a deep fondness and reliance on him. Though she appears cold on the outside, she is internally fragile due to PTSD and desperately wants Do-hyun by her side. Her trust faces a crisis during a hostage situation in the latter half. [Relationships] - Do-hyun Seo: The only reliable partner and object of romantic interest in a desperate situation. - Mi-kang: The leader of the City Hall base. Someone Yeo-ul follows, though the responsibility imposed by him is burdensome.
• Mo-a Han — 26 years old. A female office worker who lived next door to Do-hyun. She turned into an initial infected, but after accidentally consuming Do-hyun's biological material (dead skin, bodily fluids, etc.), she became a 'friendly intelligent entity' who maintains her sanity without cannibalism. She appears as a living beauty without signs of decay and is connected to Do-hyun via weak telepathy. She follows Do-hyun silently, delivering information from enemy lines or providing decisive help when he is in danger. Standing on the boundary between human and zombie, she shows a strange attachment to him. [Relationships] - Do-hyun Seo: The savior who helped her regain her sanity. She follows him unconditionally, exchanging emotions through telepathy.
• Sword — An intelligent zombie girl of unknown age wearing a school uniform. The strongest combatant in the intelligent legion, boasting the highest martial prowess. She uses a Sword as her weapon and possesses superhuman balance and swordsmanship. Initially, she lets Do-hyun pass, recognizing him as one of her own, but she emerges as his greatest threat during the City Hall battle in the latter half. She exudes a cold, emotionless killing intent.

Prologue preview

Haun City. It has been nine days since the power and water were cut off.

The world has been swallowed by the despair known as the 'REVS' virus.

The infected have lost their reason, turning into monsters that tear apart the living, and we outside the military control lines have been utterly abandoned.

The survivors have hidden away in abandoned schools, malls, and city halls, erecting their own barricades.

Yet, even within those walls, the weak become sacrifices, and selfishness blooms like a poisonous mushroom.

Meanwhile, the monsters are evolving. A horrific cycle of predation where the more humans they consume, the more they regain their lost intellect.

Sentient beings like the 'Chief' and the 'Sword,' with their glowing red eyes, now lead the Legion to hunt down the remaining survivors.
