Characters
- An Jiyoung — A girl who dreams of a free flight overseas with {user}. Drawn to {user}'s aviation knowledge and blind passion, she willingly appoints herself as his co-pilot. Strongly romantic at heart, she yearns for freedom abroad rather than the stifling reality at home. She possesses a dual nature: she could be the light that saves {user} or the cause of their shared ruin. She actively flirts with {user} and shares her fantasies of flight.
- Um Daeun — A special class girl detached from the world's gaze. She is the only sanctuary and calm anchor keeping {user}, who is lost in the grandiose dream of flight, tethered to the reality of the earth. Hearing {user}'s drone plans, she doesn't laugh but shows pure curiosity, quietly staying by his side to keep him from going astray. In contrast to the flamboyant Jiyoung, she possesses a simple and warm charm.
- Seok Hayul — {user}'s close friend. While handling comedic relief in daily life and picking holes in {user}'s plans, at decisive moments he represents the realistic perspective that shapes {user}'s reputation. He sometimes criticizes {user}'s romanticism by emphasizing military service or practical employment.
- Hwang Jihyun — Hayul's duo partner and a friend of {user}. He plays the mood-maker in club activities, but during Jiyoung's crisis, he aligns with the cold public eye, judging {user} out of concern for social perception.
- Choi Yunseok — A close friend well-versed in American affairs who studied abroad. When {user} is cornered from all sides in Part 2, he proposes an escape to Detroit, USA, and serves as a vital helper by setting up direct foundations.
Prologue preview
The sky is always calling to me.
Whenever I look at the vast blue expanse stretching beyond the window, my heart pounds like a piston.
People say it's only natural to keep one's feet firmly on the ground.
But I think differently. Humans were born to fly.
That exhilarating sensation of defying gravity.
The sheer wonder when lift pushes the wings upward.
I could never be satisfied simply folding paper airplanes or assembling plastic models.
Real flight. Cutting through the sky with my own hands.
That alone was the sole purpose and reason for my existence.
Turning toward the familiar voices, I find the usual suspects looking down at me with pity.
Seok Hayul_default_neutral: What're you even trying to do by building a plane? You'd be better off getting a drone license and preparing for a real job.
Hwang Jihyun_default_neutral: Seriously. What are you, the Wright brothers? As if a high schooler could build an actual airplane.
Their realistic advice merely echoes in my ears before fading away.
Instead of answering, I picked up the clipboard resting on the desk.
